After emerging from the club scene in Los Angeles in the mid 90’s with only a nylon guitar and his remarkable voice, releasing an album of fan-favorite acoustic tracks, and becoming the subject of a major label bidding war, Jude enjoyed some radio success with two high-charting singles, was included on the multi-platinum, #1 soundtrack album “City of Angels: Music from the Motion Picture” in 1998, and saw dozens of song syncs in Film and TV across his two albums with Maverick Records.
By 2002, Jude had left the major labels to independently record and self-distribute “Sarah” a song-cycle album tracing a relationship from beginning to end. In 2003 it topped the charts at CDBaby, reintroduced Jude’s work to college radio, and attracted the attention of the French press. Thereafter, Jude had a second recording career in France, putting out two albums through Naïve Records, both of which were critically heralded and received the prestigious “Four F’s” from Telerama magazine.
Jude toured and performed extensively in the US and Europe, both as a solo artist and opening for a litany of acts including Ben Folds Five, Alanis Morissette, Dido, Tori Amos, Chris Isaak, Train, the John Butler Trio, Tete, and more.
Vocal issues kept Jude off the road for most of 2008-2010, by which time he had launched The Patron Saints of Music. Having already scored one scripted series for ABC, one feature film, and several specialty songs for shows such as “Lost,” he began to find a niche in the world of unscripted TV, where the demand for clear music was high, but the quality of recordings was inconsistent. Marrying his artist obsession and creative drive with the production powers and musical inspiration of a small team of talented collaborators, Jude found his new instrument.
